It wasn’t to be Neil Hose’s weekend once again after another DNF for in Race 1 of the Scottish Mini Cooper Championship running reverse direction at Knockhill as they approach the mid point of the season.
Hose made good progress starting P4 on the grid to move up to P2 to challenge Michael Weddell for the lead with a few laps to go. However, after minor contact with Weddell at the hairpin Hose’s front bumper worked its way loose to end up wedged under the car forcing an early retirement from the race.
After a hard fought Race 2 from the back of the grid, Hose made solid progress to finish P5 in the wet.
More misfortune followed for Hose in Race 3 after suffering an electrical fault from the Lead of the race with 2 laps to go. managing to hang on to finish P6 and narrowly avoid another DNF.
“Definitely another weekend to forget” was the reaction from the Glasgow driver after the days events.
The Championship heads to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire for Round 4 in July.
